"This is Holloway, not the Hilton"

Alison K., who lived in one of the houses behind Holloway from 1982 - 1991, shared this amazing 1988 recipe book with us. She also told us:

On the day I bought this, the prison must have been holding a fundraising event.. There were a couple of trestle type tables situated outside the gates next to the John Barnes Library. There were lots of second hand books and I bought  the most amazing Ginger Parkin cake...all sticky, treacly and topped with oatmeal...it was delicious.

We can't wait to try some of the recipes for ourselves.
